Corrupted Land

Parallel to what once was Earth, now a corrupted wasteland, exists the Demon World. It is inhabited by demons of all sorts, from simple imps to fallen angels to the all-mighty Demon King, the most powerful demon to ever exist.

Right before the Earth was fully corrupted, demons swooped in and tried to save as many humans as they could by taking them to the demon world. Ever since, many human districts have appeared, all governed by various demons. Every district is ruled differently; some are quite nice places, while others…less so.

In a humorous turn of events, the Demon World is now the realm with the highest amount of humans.

District of Seven

The District of Seven was previously ruled by a powerful demon who kept humans as cattle. After a power dispute, its previous despot ruler was overthrown by a group of seven, who separated the district into seven equal parts, each represented by a color and a sin.

There are 7 clans. It is possible to leave a clan for another (but it is impossible to go back to a clan you left), and you can even be clan-less if you wish so, but you won’t be protected from outside harm if you aren’t part of a clan. Due to the protective powers of clan leaders over their clan members, the eyes of the members take on the color associated with their leader.

List of clans

Clan of Envy

Associated with green. Ruled by the insecure Alliaryce. This clan is where most of the military power of the District of Seven is located. The Green Army, led by Alliaryce herself, defends the District of Seven from outside attacks and tries to keep order inside the district, without interfering with each clan’s laws.

Clan of Gluttony

Associated with orange. Ruled by the gourmet Phiomas. A place of overindulgence and reckless partying, the food made there is renowned across the entire demon world, and the chefs who studied there are especially sought-after. Due to the sheer amount of waste produced, Gluttony has a deal with Greed to give them as much of their trash as possible.

Clan of Greed

Associated with indigo. Ruled by the selfish Estrelle. Its inhabitants tend to be stingy as well as massive hoarders, and they are jokingly called the “human dragons” because of that. This clan has a strict no-waste policy and has a deal with Gluttony to take their waste.

Clan of Lust

Associated with blue. Ruled by the hedonistic Viridis. A place known for its very open-minded attitude towards relationships, both romantic and sexual, and its dedication to art in all its forms. It is a place of fine pleasures and the classier entertainment hub of the District of Seven.

Clan of Pride

Associated with yellow. Ruled by the prideful Alkhan. A meritocracy taken to the extreme, where your status is directly linked to how hard you work. The higher your status, the more luxuries you are afforded, so many people try to get a higher status in order to obtain ultimate freedom. Hard work is generously rewarded, but many crumble under the pressure.

Clan of Sloth

Associated with purple. “Ruled” by the lazy Tyquexis. Not including the Lord of Sloth himself, there are only three members in this clan because he can’t be bothered to recruit more. Also called the “Clan of Ruins” because their main building is falling apart due to a lack of maintenance.

Once upon a time, this clan was the Clan of Despair.

Clan of Wrath

Associated with red. Ruled by the short-tempered Gehjak. There, status is determined by your strength, and any position can be claimed if one can overthrow the person previously holding it. Despite how violent this system might seem, it actually encourages strategy and the use of various skills other than raw strength. This way of rule is very similar to how the Demon King is chosen, but on a much smaller scale.

Pandemonium

The capital of the demon world, as well as the living place of the Demon King. It is an incredibly active and populated city, similar to the human metropolis of old.

Most of the high-ranked demons live in the capital, along with their familiars and various servants.
