Dragons are said to have existed way before the Great Corruption, although they hid away from people. They are all born from the ancient dragon Kellerys, their unique parent and creator. Similarly to monsters, dragons are composed entirely of magic (although of a different type), but contrary to the corrupted creatures, they don’t simply appear in their final, adult form. They go through very slow growth inside an indestructible magical egg, then come out of it once they are sturdy enough to survive the outside world. They still have some growing to do after that, both physically and mentally, supervised and taught by their father, Kellerys. It is said that the time taken for a dragon to become an adult is at least a thousand years, possibly more. That, combined with the fact that their patriarch only raises a single child at once, would explain their supposed low numbers.
Dragons each can control a different element and seem to be fully immune to both corrupted and blessed magic. They can control multiple bodies at once; their true body is the “brain” and holds all their thoughts and powers, while any supplemental bodies are more like additional limbs. Said supplemental bodies can vary in appearance, going from wyverns (beasts who look like small dragons who can be the size of a small rabbit to that of a grown horse) to drakes (any intelligent species that gained draconic traits and powers after drinking a dragon’s blood, usually humanoid but not always). Those bodies aren’t born; rather, they are fully created by each dragon’s magic.
Every dragon, with no exception, is intersex. They are also completely unable to reproduce using normal means due to being made entirely of magic. Kellerys is the only individual capable of creating other individuals of their kind.
